The strategy-setting body of the BMFTR Agricultural Systems of the Future funding initiative is the coordination committee. It is comprised of the coordinators of the research consortia and forms the basis for networking between the consortia.

Through a novel quality of dialogue and cooperation, the coordination committee works on bundling and strengthening knowledge resources in an inter-consortium context.

It serves as the think tank for the identification of social, political and scientific challenges related to the current agrosystems and prepares thematic recommendations for the further development of future agrosystems.  

The work of the coordination committee is supported by the coordination office, among other things through the organisation of regular meetings, strategic workshops and status seminars.
