On 17 April 2024, the showroom of the RUN project was opened at the University of Stuttgart in the outdoor area of the K2 Kriegsbergstraße/Keplerstraße 17 building in 70174 Stuttgart. The research project ‘Rural Urban Nutrient Partnership - Nutrient Communities for Sustainable Agriculture’ (RUN) invited all interested parties, especially the younger generation, to the opening of the RUN showroom for a ‘Meet the Junior Scientist’ lunch.

On the size of a one-room flat, the experience room illustrates the idea and innovative recycling technology of the project. The exhibition includes a 2D wooden model that illustrates the entire RUN technology. A functional kitchen waste shredder that illustrates the aim of RUN to produce recycled products such as fertilisers, biochar and bioplastics from domestic kitchen waste. The RUN comic in large format and printed on wood to touch.

In a relaxed atmosphere, visitors were able to discuss the current research of the RUN junior researchers or future career prospects over lunch to go. The project management team provided tips on agile project management. The 3D glasses from AdZ gave interested visitors an insight into other innovative projects with the aim of designing ‘agricultural systems of the future’.

The showroom will remain on the campus of the University of Stuttgart until the end of the project in August 2024. Events will continue to take place. What will happen to the experience room after the end of the project is still being clarified, but one option is to use it as a ‘green office’.
